Our privacy policy and how we use your data

Last updated: June 29, 2026

Jessy is a career service operated by InfoMason ("InfoMason," "we," "us," or "our"). Jessy helps remote software engineers find well-matched job opportunities and coaching through ongoing conversations with an AI career agent.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have. It applies to the Jessy website, app, and related services (the "Service").

The short version: we don't sell your data, we don't use your career conversations to train AI models, and we never share anything about you with an employer without your explicit approval. The rest of this policy explains the details.

Who This Policy Covers

Jessy is intended for individuals located in the United States, and the job opportunities we surface are based in the United States. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use the Service — Jessy is a professional employment service intended for working adults, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have collected information from someone under 18, we will delete it.

Currently, the only users of Jessy are candidates — individual professionals using the Service for their own job search. A company-facing product (where employers could receive candidate profiles) is planned but not yet live. When we introduce it, we will update this policy before any candidate information goes to employers. See Sharing With Employers.

Information We Collect

Information You Provide to Us

  • Account and identity information. Your name, email address, and a phone number we use to verify your identity. We use your phone number to confirm you are a real person, to sign you in securely, and to protect your account; we don't use it for marketing.
  • Resume and other uploads. You may upload a resume or other documents. These documents contribute to your conversation and profile.
  • Conversation content. This is the heart of the Service. Through your ongoing dialogue with the AI career agent, you share things like your skills, work history, work preferences, values, career goals, salary expectations, and dealbreakers. This is rich, free-form information about your professional life.
  • Application activity. Jobs you log that you've applied to (company, role, dates, outcomes), and whether you mark interest in or decline opportunities the agent surfaces.
  • Payment information. When you subscribe, our third-party payment processor collects the information needed to process your payment. We do not store full payment card numbers ourselves.
  • Communications. Messages you send us (for example, support requests) and your preferences for the emails and alerts you receive.

Information We Generate About You

  • Inferred profile and preferences. As you converse with the agent, it forms an evolving understanding of you (for example, "prefers smaller companies" or "values autonomy"). You can view, correct, and delete these inferences at any time.
  • Patterns and insights. Analysis of your application behavior and outcomes, used to coach you and improve your recommendations.
  • Usage and engagement data. How and when you interact with the Service.

Information We Collect Automatically

When you use the Service, we automatically collect basic technical information such as your device and browser type, general (non-precise) location inferred from your IP address, and how you navigate the Service. We use this to operate, secure, and improve Jessy. See Cookies and Tracking.

What We Don't Ask For

  • We do not ask for demographic data. We never request your race, gender, age, national origin, disability status, or religion, and we never use these factors in matching or recommendations.
  • We do not seek out sensitive or special-category data. We don't request information about your health, biometric identifiers, precise geolocation, sexual orientation, political opinions, or union membership, and we don't ask for financial account details beyond what our payment processor needs to bill you.
  • We exclude certain attributes from matching. Factors like graduation year, the name of your university, and location-based proxies are excluded from our matching logic. We design our matching to be skills-based and to exclude these attributes, and we do not intentionally use protected characteristics.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information described above to:

  • Build and maintain your evolving career profile through conversation.
  • Find and recommend relevant job opportunities, with explanations of why each one fits you.
  • Coach you — scoring application quality, surfacing patterns in your search, estimating response likelihood, and helping you prepare for interviews.
  • Improve the quality of your own recommendations over time — every "yes" and "no" you give refines what we surface to you.
  • Operate billing, verify your identity, prevent fraud and abuse, and keep the Service secure.
  • Communicate with you — match alerts, weekly summaries, account and sign-in emails, and responses to your requests.
  • Create aggregated or de-identified data and use it for analytics and other business purposes. We do not sell this data or use it to train AI models.
  • Comply with our legal obligations and enforce our terms.

How AI Powers Jessy

Jessy is fundamentally an AI-driven service. Your conversations, your job matching, and any written summaries about you shared with employers are generated with the help of AI.

  • AI processing. The agent uses automated processing to build your profile, infer your preferences, and rank opportunities for you. It surfaces opportunities to you and does not make hiring decisions.
  • Your conversation content is processed by a third-party AI provider. To power the Service, we send your conversation and profile content to an AI provider that processes it on our behalf. Under our agreement with that provider, your data is kept within the United States and is not used to train the provider's AI models.
  • We do not train AI models on your career content. Neither we nor our AI provider use your conversations or profile to train AI models. Refining your own recommendations as you give feedback is part of operating the Service for you — it is not used to build or train models that serve other people.

How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share information only in these limited ways:

Service Providers

We use third parties to make the Service work. They act as our service providers (processors), may access your information only to perform services for us, and are contractually required to protect it and not use it for their own purposes. These include providers for:

  • Payments — to process your subscription.
  • Phone verification — to send the SMS codes that verify your identity.
  • Email delivery — to send notifications and sign-in links.
  • AI processing — to power your conversations and matching, under the protections described in How AI Powers Jessy.
  • Analytics and error monitoring — to keep the Service working and improve it.
  • Hosting and infrastructure — to store and serve your data securely.

Sharing With Employers

The employer-facing product is not yet live. When it launches:

  • The agent may share your profile with a company only with your explicit approval.
  • You will see exactly what would be shared before anything is sent, and you can redact details (for example, a previous salary) first.
  • Nothing about you is shared with any employer without your approval.

Our Operations Team

Our team may access account data, including your conversations, to operate, troubleshoot, and support the Service.

We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or where we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request.

Business Transfers

If Jessy is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will require the recipient to honor the commitments in this policy, and we will notify you of any material change. A transfer of your information in connection with such a transaction is not a "sale" of personal information.

We Do Not Sell Your Data

We do not sell your personal information.

Cookies and Tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies for two purposes: essential cookies that keep you signed in and the Service secure, and analytics and error-monitoring technologies that help us understand how the Service is used and fix problems. We do not use cookies for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not sell or share information collected through cookies.

You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling essential cookies may prevent parts of the Service from working. We do not sell or share your personal information, and we honor recognized browser opt-out preference signals such as Global Privacy Control (GPC).

Data Retention

We keep your personal information for as long as your account is active and as long as needed to provide the Service. When you delete your account or request deletion, we delete or anonymize your personal information from our active systems within 30 days, except where we are required or permitted to retain it:

  • Certain activity and decision records are retained for at least two years for accountability, audit, and legal-compliance reasons.
  • If and when the employer-sharing feature launches, records of what you approved to share with an employer may be retained as business records where the law permits.

When we complete a deletion request, we will confirm it and, on request, explain the categories of information we retained and why. Copies of your information may remain in our encrypted backups until those backups expire and are overwritten under our backup provider's standard rotation schedule; during that time the data is not accessed or used for any purpose other than restoring the Service after a failure.

Data Security

We protect your information with safeguards that include encryption of data in transit and at rest, access controls that limit employee access to personal data, audit logging, secure cloud infrastructure, and regular review of our security practices.

In the event of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify affected users and the appropriate regulators within the timeframes required by law.

No method of transmitting or storing information is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

Your Rights and Choices

Regardless of where you live in the United States, you can:

  • Know and access a full summary of everything the agent knows or has inferred about you.
  • Correct any information or inference that is inaccurate.
  • Delete your information (subject to the retention exceptions described above).
  • Control sharing — if and when employer sharing launches, review, edit, or redact anything before it is shared with an employer, and decline any request to share.
  • Manage communications — adjust your email and alert preferences, or unsubscribe from non-essential messages.

To exercise any of these, use the controls in your account or email us at info@jessy.jobs. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, and we will use the information you provide only to verify it. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.

Additional Rights for California Residents

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the CPRA) gives you specific rights, which Jessy honors:

  • Right to Know. You can request the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the sources, the purposes for collecting it, and the categories of third parties with whom we share it.
  • Right to Delete. You can request that we delete the personal information we collected from you, subject to certain legal exceptions.
  • Right to Correct. You can request that we correct inaccurate personal information we hold about you.
  • Right to Opt Out of Sale or Sharing. We do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of.
  • Right to Limit Use of Sensitive Information. We do not request or intentionally use sensitive personal information, and we do not use any sensitive information you may volunteer in conversation for matching or recommendations.
  • Right to Non-Discrimination. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your California privacy rights.

To exercise these rights, email us at info@jessy.jobs or use your account settings. We will verify your identity before processing your request and will respond within the timeframes required by law. You may also designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf; we may ask the agent for proof of authorization and ask you to verify your own identity.

International Users

Jessy is operated in the United States, and your information is processed and stored here. The job opportunities we surface are based in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, you consent to your information being processed in the United States under this policy.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and notify you through the Service or by email. Your continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised policy.
